Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liddell buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Silva swats away the attempt to clinch by Liddell.
Liddell lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silva circles away quickly and effectively.
Liddell stuffs the takedown.
Liddell pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Liddell.
Liddell jabs at Silva's body.
Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Liddell but Liddell pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Silva shoots in but Liddell avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Chuck Liddell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thiago Silva.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Silva is pressing down on Liddell's thigh, looking to free his foot. Liddell is holding on for now.
Silva prevents Liddell from improving his position.

Silva stalling away here and it's allowed Liddell to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Liddell seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Liddell throws a sloppy head kick and Silva moves out of range easily.
Liddell displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Silva.
Silva looks gassed!
Liddell lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Silva backs up against the cage.
Liddell throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Silva.
Liddell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silva paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Liddell swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Chuck Liddell will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Silva has his takedown stuffed

and Liddell counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Liddell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
Silva tries to roll over but Liddell keeps him under control.
Liddell tries to pass the half guard into mount. Silva knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Silva wants to improve his position but Liddell is controlling well.
Silva wants to control but Liddell is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Liddell is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Silva sees it coming and defends easily.

and Liddell counters with a shoot takedown. Silva fights it but they end up in guard.
Liddell sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Silva's guard.

Liddell is controlling the pace.
Silva has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Liddell is working away from the top position though.
