Kolom is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Smith drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kolom looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kolom looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kolom!

Smith tries to buck Kolom off but Kolom is having none of it.
Smith is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kolom's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Smith looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smith tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Smith controls Kolom momentarily but Kolom frees himself.
Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kolom looks gassed!
Kolom slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Smith bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kolom's guard.
Smith passes into half guard.

Smith in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Kolom tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Smith!
