The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by march.
Martinez is trying to control march's posture but march avoids it.
march creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Martinez sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Martinez manages to work his way to half guard, despite march's best efforts.

Martinez tries to roll over but march keeps him under control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Martinez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Martinez tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

march wants to get back to his feet but Martinez drags him back down.
march manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Martinez is nestled in close to march, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Martinez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so march is just riding it out for now. Martinez eventually gives up the hold.

Martinez is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but march has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Martinez is looking to defend but march has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Martinez! march pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Martinez taps out and this one is all over!
