Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Lombardi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Highes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Highes has chosen Skynyrd's Simple Man as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vincent Lombardi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Highes!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lombardi slaps away a takedown attempt from Highes, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Nice takedown defense from Lombardi. No joy for Highes on that attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Highes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A right-left combo lands from Highes.
Highes shoots for a double leg takedown but Lombardi sprawls well. He's pushed Highes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Vincent Lombardi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Highes.
Highes lands a jab to the head.
Lombardi keeps the fight on the outside.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Highes.
Jimmy Highes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lombardi shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Highes throws a hook but Lombardi avoids it easily.
Lombardi stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Lombardi clobbers Highes with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

It looks like Jimmy Highes has been cut.
Highes avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Lombardi throws a sloppy head kick and Highes moves out of range easily.
Lombardi on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Highes fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lombardi avoids it really well and circles away.

Highes gets a clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Highes fails to pull guard.
Highes is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lombardi gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Highes tries to score a body lock takedown but Lombardi shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Highes blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Highes fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Highes's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Lombardi gets underhooks to prevent Highes's takedown attempt.
Lombardi throws a head punch that misses.

Highes is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Lombardi gets through Highes's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Lombardi doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Lombardi fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Highes blocking some punches.
Highes tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Lombardi works on Highes's body with a couple of short punches.

Lombardi breaks from the clinch.
Lombardi misses with an attempted mid kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Lombardi.
Lombardi scores with a sloppy right hand. Highes should have avoided that one.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lombardi scores with a spinning back kick!
Highes drops his hands momentarily and Lombardi needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Highes just on the top of the head. Highes drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Highes - he's done!
