The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hussain is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Heckingstall.

It looks like Rajin Hussain has been cut.
Heckingstall misses with a takedown attempt - Hussain sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Heckingstall closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hussain is not content to let Heckingstall control the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Heckingstall counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hussain won't be happy with that.

Heckingstall stands up and beckons Hussain to his feet.
Heckingstall tries a head kick but it misses.
Hussain misses with a wild combination.
Heckingstall is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Heckingstall is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hussain's half guard.
Hussain tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Heckingstall has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Heckingstall will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Heckingstall stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Heckingstall tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hussain swats him away and circles back towards the center.
