PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mari Ore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yason Tupaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ore's entrance music is The Pack - My Girl Got A Girl Too. A fine choice. Tupaz is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Step Up. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mari Ore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yason Tupaz!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tupaz circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ore takes a kick to the side of the head.
Ore tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tupaz swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Tupaz looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Tupaz is looking to take a break and control but Ore is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Tupaz with the ground and pound but Ore uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Tupaz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ore. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Tupaz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ore swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Yason Tupaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Crunch! Tupaz slams his shin into Ore's torso.
Tupaz throws a front kick that sends Ore stumbling back into the cage.
A looping hook to the body misses from Tupaz. Ore does a little dance to reset his feet.
Tupaz throws a leg kick which misses Ore's front leg but catches the back leg as Ore tries to avoid it.
Tupaz bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Tupaz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Yason Tupaz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Tupaz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
