Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Master Mark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paddy Rat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paddy Rat has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Master Mark's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Master Mark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paddy Rat!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mark changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rat tries to avoid it but Mark manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rat to the ground. Rat escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rat lands with a nice combination. Mark backs away looking to recover.
Mark throws a hook but Rat blocks it.

Rat closes the distance and pushes Mark back into the cage.
Rat lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Rat displaying some good clinch control by pressing Mark up against the cage.
Rat tries to circle away but Mark has him pinned against the cage.
Come on Rat - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Rat has had enough of the clinch but Mark keeps him there for the moment.
Mark can't get the takedown.
Rat avoiding damage.
Rat keeps control of Mark as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Mark can't find room to land a body shot as Rat controls the action.
Mark is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Rat gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Master Mark. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rat lands a shoulder strike.
Rat stalling in the clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Rat creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Rat stalls.
Mark swings wildly with an uppercut but Rat uses good head movement to avoid it.

Rat throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Rat is struggling to control the position.

Rat pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Rat scores with a one two! Mark had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


Mark is rocked!

Mark tries to keep at a distance but Rat has taken the fight into the clinch.
Oh Mark is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rat is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Rat lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Rat lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Mark.
Mark seems to have got his legs back now.
Mark is breathing heavily.
Rat wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Mark stalling in the clinch but Rat improves position.
Mark could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Rat stalls.
Mark tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rat just stands there and leans against the cage.
Rat wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Mark has him pressed against the cage.
Mark is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Mark is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Rat pulls him back up using the underhooks.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rat lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Rat trying to land knees to the body.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Rat takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Rat lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Mark is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Mark fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Rat has Mark pressed against the cage, preventing Mark from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Mark tries to clinch but Rat moves away

and Rat counters with a nice right hand that sends Mark toppling to the canvas! Mark scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Rat finish him?!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rat steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Mark is out on his feet! Rat sets himself and nearly takes Mark's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Paddy Rat!
