PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pedo Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Harris told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pedo Bear!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul Harris!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bear motions for Harris to come forward. Bear throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Harris uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bear.
Harris throws a low kick but Bear moves out of range easily.

Harris gets caught flat footed, as Bear shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Bear postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harris has his foot on Bear's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bear works his way back into a safe position though.

Harris is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bear defends well.

Bear drops back looking for a leg! Harris is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Harris manages to kick Bear off! Bear jumps back into Harris's guard.
Bear with a flurry of punches that miss.
Bear trying to control but Harris is working from the bottom.

Bear connects with a couple of short punches.

Harris looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Harris keeping moving, preventing Bear from controlling successfully.
Bear controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Bear working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Harris looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Bear passes into half guard.
Harris is refusing to be controlled, as Bear sits in half guard.
Harris tries to roll over but Bear keeps him under control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harris throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Harris wants to get back to full guard.

Harris looking for submissions off his back.
Bear working Harris over with strikes.
Bear keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Harris is looking to improve his position.
Bear takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Bear works his way into full mount!
Bear lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

It looks like Paul Harris has been cut.
Harris looks gassed!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Harris tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bear is landing with some decent strikes but Harris is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

That has opened up Paul Harris's cut even more.

Bear looking for a guillotine from mount but Harris is having none of it.
Bear lands with some strikes.

The cut above Paul Harris's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Paul Harris's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
