PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nsir Vlum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Revenge of the Bastard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vlum's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Linkin Park - What I've Done. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bastard throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Vlum misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A jab lands there for Bastard.
Vlum tries to clinch up but Bastard circles away and keeps his distance.
Vlum tries to clinch but Bastard is having none of it.
Some bone on bone action there as Bastard checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Bastard keeps the fight on the outside.
Bastard has a takedown stuffed.
Bastard throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bastard bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Vlum's head.
Bastard fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Vlum avoids it really well and circles away.
Bastard fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nsir Vlum has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Revenge of the Bastard.

Vlum gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bastard to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Bastard is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Vlum tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Vlum regains half guard.
Vlum is looking for a sweep. Bastard is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Vlum looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Vlum is breathing heavily.

Bastard seems to be working for a kimura but Vlum defends the submission attempt.

Bastard is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Bastard seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bastard passes to side control.
You can see the frustration on Vlum's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vlum gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Vlum wants to control but Bastard is keeping busy.

Bastard is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Bastard is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The fighters are battling for position here. Vlum manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Bastard tries to stand but Vlum is controlling from the bottom.

Vlum looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Bastard passes into side control.
Vlum sneaks back into half guard.
Bastard wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Vlum uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Revenge of the Bastard dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Bastard closes the distance and clinches up with Vlum, looking for a takedown. Bastard pushes Vlum against the cage but Vlum circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Vlum stuffs the takedown attempt from Bastard. Bastard gets slowly back to his feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bastard.
Nsir Vlum has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Revenge of the Bastard.
Bastard blocks a head kick by Vlum.
Vlum lands a high kick!

It looks like Revenge of the Bastard has been cut.
Vlum tries to close the distance and clinch but Bastard swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Vlum throws a head kick that misses.
Vlum is looking to clinch but Bastard is avoiding it.

Vlum gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Bastard jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Vlum walks away with a smile on his face. Bastard gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Bastard tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vlum was well out of range. Poor timing from Bastard.
Bastard is breathing heavily.
Vlum scores with a kick to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vlum fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Bastard.
Vlum throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Bastard's head.

A solid leg kick lands there for Vlum.
Vlum throws a head kick that half lands.
Vlum lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Vlum tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bastard blocks a head kick by Vlum.
Vlum tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Bastard shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Vlum napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Vlum manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Vlum in particular looking to stall.
Vlum is trying to control the action in half guard but Bastard is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Vlum content to control rather than advance.
Bastard is looking to improve his position.

Vlum is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Bastard looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Vlum is defending well. Bastard quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Vlum has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Bastard celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
