Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between B Schnitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bert Bainite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bainite feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Schnitz wants to stand but Bainite is controlling the position.
Bainite trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Bainite postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Schnitz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bainite, into his guard.

Schnitz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bainite has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Schnitz has managed to get both his arms back between Bainite's legs - danger averted.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
