Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bartosz Jarecki!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Jorge Garcia and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jarecki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bannister tries to avoid it but Jarecki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bannister to the ground. Bannister escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jarecki shoots in for a takedown but Bannister shows good takedown defense.

Bannister tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jarecki paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Jarecki has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bannister is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Jarecki.

Bannister decides to stand up, so the ref orders Jarecki to his feet.

Jarecki escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bannister gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jarecki has his foot on Bannister's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bannister works his way back into a safe position though.

Bannister takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bannister seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jarecki does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Bannister drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
A lull in the action here as Bannister stalls from top position.
Jarecki is looking to reverse the position.
Bannister is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Jarecki shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Jarecki has hold of Bannister's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bannister manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Bannister wants to control but Jarecki is keeping busy.

Jarecki is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bannister sees it coming and defends easily.
Jarecki is keen to just control but Bannister is a slippery customer.

Well Bannister has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
