Wonder is trying to break the clinch but Cortez is controlling him.

Cortez shoots for a double leg takedown but Wonder sprawls well. He's pushed Cortez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Cortez dives in and grabs Wonder's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wonder pushes down on Cortez's head and hops out.

Cortez takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Wonder ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Cortez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wonder pinned against the cage. Wonder gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Cortez counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Cortez with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Nick Wonder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wonder wants to slow Cortez down by chopping away at his legs.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cortez is defended easily by Wonder.
Cortez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wonder sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cortez somewhat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
