Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darwin lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
An inside leg kick lands from Darwin.
A head kick from Darwin lands but Malone takes it in his stride.
It looks like Mongo Malone has been cut.
Malone throws a low kick but Darwin avoids it.
Darwin throws a good cross that connects.
A chopping leg kick lands by Malone.
Darwin throws the kick towards the body but Malone avoids it.
Malone steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Darwin.

and Darwin counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Darwin dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Malone. That did some damage!
Darwin smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Malone bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Darwin's head backwards.

and Malone counters with a slapping leg kick.
Darwin lands a really nice looking cross but Malone seems unphased.

Malone throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Malone tries to score with a low kick but Darwin moves his leg out of the way.
Darwin swings for the body but Malone moves out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Malone has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Darwin finds it's way round the side to connect with Malone's head.
Malone avoids the body shot from Darwin.
A punch lands to the side of Malone 's head but he takes it in his stride.
That has opened up Mongo Malone's cut even more.
Darwin fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Malone.
A low kick from Malone is predictable there
and Darwin counters with a good low kick that Malone was not able to check.
A slow jab from Darwin misses its intended target.

Malone throws a big shot that misses.
Darwin scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Malone's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Darwin lands a big head kick that sends Malone tumbling to the mat! Darwin takes a step backwards and waves Malone back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Malone is still on wobbly legs! Can Darwin finish him?
The cut above Mongo Malone's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Darwin just misses with a punch to the body.
A left and a right from Darwin both land. Nice combination.
Mongo Malone's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
