PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Rummer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dons Dasuffrah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Dasuffrah's choice of entrance music: Rza - Grits. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryan Rummer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dons Dasuffrah!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Dean Styles and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Dasuffrah. No joy for Rummer on that attempt.

Rummer shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dasuffrah manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Rummer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rummer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Dasuffrah has his foot on Rummer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rummer works his way back into a safe position though.

Dasuffrah has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rummer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Dasuffrah is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Dasuffrah gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Rummer pushes down on Dasuffrah's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Rummer is trying to work for a kimura but Dasuffrah is defending well.
Rummer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dasuffrah keeps working.

Rummer is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dasuffrah can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Dasuffrah can't escape the position.
Rummer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dasuffrah is looking to escape.

Rummer is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Dasuffrah can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Rummer looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Rummer lands a nice forearm strike.

Rummer is working to tighten is grip on Dasuffrah's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Dasuffrah has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Rummer is really squeezing tight and eventually Dasuffrah passes out! Rummer breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
