Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Swanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chuck Norris has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chuck Norris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Swanson!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Lou da Vinci and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Swanson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Norris is trying to defend but Swanson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Swanson thows a huge punch but Norris dodges it nicely.
Norris is trying to control but can't.
Norris tries to get to full guard but Swanson has control of the leg.
Norris knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Swanson on the ground.
Swanson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Swanson scores with the left hand. Norris knows he should have avoided that one.
Norris is breathing heavily.
Swanson scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
The fight stays on the outside here - Norris looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Swanson throws a body kick that misses.
Swanson takes a swing at Norris's ribcage but misses.

Swanson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Norris, pushing him back against the cage.

Swanson jumps into guard, dragging Norris to the mat.
Swanson is adopting a defensive guard.

Swanson looking for a guillotine here but Norris defends easily.

Swanson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Norris is controlling him.
Norris wants to control from the top but Swanson keeps moving.
Swanson seems keen to control Norris's posture.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Swanson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Norris is aware though and is defending well.
Swanson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Swanson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Norris doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Norris manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Swanson pushes Norris off and scrambles back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Swanson counters with a shoot takedown. Norris fights it but they end up in guard.

Swanson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Swanson is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Norris to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Norris shrugs it off.
Norris tries to hold on but Swanson pushes him away.

Swanson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Norris is trying desperately to improve position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Swanson controlling the pace for now.

Norris can't escape the position.

Norris bucks up and throws Swanson to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!

Chuck Norris is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Norris has his takedown stuffed

and Swanson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Norris's guard.

Swanson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Swanson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Joe Swanson.

Norris closes the distance and clinches.
Swanson wants to break the clinch but can't.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Come on Norris - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Swanson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Norris walks away with a smile on his face. Swanson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Swanson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Swanson swats away the attempt to clinch by Norris.
Swanson pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Swanson on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Norris closes the distance and pushes Swanson back into the cage.
Swanson tries to pull guard but Norris won't allow it.
Chuck Norris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Swanson.
Norris tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Swanson just stands there and leans against the cage.
Norris fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Swanson goes for a takedown attempt but Norris pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Swanson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Norris's half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Swanson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Swanson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Swanson is landing with some decent strikes but Norris is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Norris is in all sorts of trouble here.

Swanson gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Norris tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Swanson's corner calls for a 1-2. Swanson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Swanson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Swanson decides to stand and escape the position.

Norris pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Norris misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Norris counters with a good, hard body kick but Swanson shrugs it off.
Swanson fails to land the takedown.
Swanson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Norris wants to clinch up but Swanson keeps it at a distance.

Swanson stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Norris to get to his feet.
Norris tries a head kick but it misses.
Swanson darts in trying to clinch

so Norris counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Swanson looking for a sweep. Not yet Swanson, not yet.
Swanson keeping moving, preventing Norris from controlling successfully.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Joe Swanson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Swanson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
