Dmitriev comes to the cage accompanied by Sukh Knight - Diesel Not Petrol. Baskov has chosen Nikolay Baskov - You are far from me as his entrance music. Nikolay Baskov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dmitriev closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Baskov holding on.

Dmitriev wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Baskov, who protects the arm well.
Baskov tries to improve position but can't.

Dmitriev is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Baskov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Dmitriev tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Dmitriev misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Dmitriev wants to control but Baskov is keeping him busy.

Dmitriev is trying to get an arm triangle but Baskov is defending well.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Dmitriev closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dmitriev lands in his opponent's guard.
Baskov is adopting a defensive guard.
Dmitriev wants to pass the guard but Baskov is keeping the position.
Baskov is controlling Dmitriev's posture.
Baskov controls Dmitriev momentarily but Dmitriev frees himself.

Dmitriev drops back looking for a leg! Baskov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Baskov manages to kick Dmitriev off! Dmitriev jumps back into Baskov's guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Baskov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dmitriev is working away from the top position though.

Dmitriev is looking for a kimura but Baskov is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dmitriev to get the leverage.

Baskov is trying to control Dmitriev's posture but Dmitriev avoids it.

Dmitriev has an Americana. Baskov didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Dmitriev is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Dmitriev hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
