Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between BJ Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bullfrog Snakeshoes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barnes kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Black Eyed Peas - Imma Be. Snakeshoes has chosen NEON as his entrance music. Bullfrog Snakeshoes will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snakeshoes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Barnes shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Barnes works his way into side control.

Barnes is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Snakeshoes knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Barnes misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Barnes lands a decent elbow from side control.

Snakeshoes takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Snakeshoes is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Barnes wants to control but Snakeshoes is keeping him busy.
Barnes is trying to ground and pound but Snakeshoes uses the momentary lack of control by Barnes to regain half guard.

Barnes is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Snakeshoes doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Barnes.
Barnes throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Snakeshoes is not content to let Barnes control the position.
Barnes is pressing down on Snakeshoes's thigh, looking to free his foot. Snakeshoes is holding on for now.
Barnes moves into full mount! Snakeshoes won't be happy about that!

Barnes lands a heavy elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Snakeshoes is looking to get to half guard.
Barnes throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

It looks like Bullfrog Snakeshoes has been cut.
Snakeshoes is desperately trying to improve his position but Barnes has a good base and remains in mount.
Snakeshoes wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Barnes.
A nice elbow there by Barnes.

That has opened up Bullfrog Snakeshoes's cut even more.
Barnes lands with some strikes.

The cut above Bullfrog Snakeshoes's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Snakeshoes is squirming around, avoiding Barnes's attempts to control the action.

Barnes jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Snakeshoes is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Snakeshoes and Barnes has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Snakeshoes throws a lazy right hand but Barnes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Barnes is trying hard to land a takedown here. Snakeshoes sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Snakeshoes just misses with a punch to the body.
Barnes moves in looking to clinch but Snakeshoes pushes him off.
Snakeshoes connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Barnes's hands.

Barnes closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Snakeshoes did well to prevent Barnes getting side control.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Barnes here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Snakeshoes is not content to let Barnes control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Snakeshoes tries to get to full guard but Barnes has control of the leg.

Snakeshoes is defending against the submission attempts here by Barnes.
Barnes working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Snakeshoes's thigh. Snakeshoes counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Barnes closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Snakeshoes did well to prevent Barnes getting side control.
Barnes thows a huge punch but Snakeshoes dodges it nicely.

Snakeshoes is refusing to be controlled, as Barnes sits in half guard.

Barnes scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Snakeshoes moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Barnes tries to free his leg and advance position but Snakeshoes is retaining full guard.
Snakeshoes pulls Barnes in close to his closed guard and prevents Barnes from doing any damage or advancing position.
BJ Barnes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Barnes drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Barnes jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Bullfrog Snakeshoes's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Bullfrog Snakeshoes's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
