The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pain thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Pain drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pain jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pain is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! da wiseman is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! da wiseman has escaped and now he's on top!
da wiseman lands a couple of digs.
da wiseman tries to free his leg and advance position but Pain is retaining full guard.
Pain is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Pain shoots in for a double leg but da wiseman sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Pain fails with a takedown attempt.

da wiseman closes the distance and clinches.

da wiseman manages to pull guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pain is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Pain is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and da wiseman defends it well.
