The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zuberi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Zuberi wants it to stay on the feet.
Beauford misses with a takedown attempt - Zuberi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Beauford fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carter Beauford. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Beauford drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Beauford won't allow Zuberi to sweep him here.
Zuberi controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Beauford is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Zuberi is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Zuberi has escaped and now he's on top!

Beauford is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Zuberi defends well.
Beauford is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Beauford throws his legs up looking for a submission but Zuberi uses it to pass to side control.

Zuberi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Beauford keeps working.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
No luck for Beauford with that takedown attempt.

Zuberi gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Beauford tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Zuberi manages to break the clinch.
Beauford shoots in for a double leg but Zuberi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Beauford dives in and grabs Zuberi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Zuberi pushes down on Beauford's head and hops out.

Beauford bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Beauford tries for a kimura but Zuberi is defending well.

Zuberi is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Zuberi tries to bench press Beauford off him but Beauford keeps the position.
