Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Makleiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Cutler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mauricio Makleiz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jay Cutler!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makleiz scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Cutler looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Cutler is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Cutler is looking for a kimura but Makleiz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cutler to get the leverage.

Cutler looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Cutler is working for a submission of some sort.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Cutler is looking for a kimura but Makleiz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cutler to get the leverage.
Cutler is trying to control the action in half guard but Makleiz is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Cutler is trying to work for a kimura but Makleiz is defending well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Cutler is trying to get an arm triangle but Makleiz is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cutler tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cutler has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Cutler is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Makleiz knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Makleiz is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Cutler is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Makleiz is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cutler thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Cutler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Makleiz scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.


It looks like Jay Cutler has been cut.
Makleiz throws a low kick but it's checked well by Cutler.
Makleiz moves in looking to clinch but Cutler pushes him off.
Makleiz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cutler lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Makleiz can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Cutler and Makleiz drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Cutler.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jay Cutler!
