Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake The Snake!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vitor Belfort!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Belfort throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. The Snake was covering up waiting for the punch and Belfort finishes the takedown easily into guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as The Snake holds on and takes a little breather.
Belfort tries to stand but The Snake is controlling from the bottom.
The Snake keeping moving, preventing Belfort from controlling successfully.
The Snake is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The Snake manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The Snake is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Belfort to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Belfort shrugs it off.

The Snake is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Belfort has managed to escape the submission attempt.

The Snake working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

The Snake leaves Belfort with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
The Snake connects with a body shot.
The Snake's corner calls for a 1-2. The Snake obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Belfort drops his hands momentarily and The Snake takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Belfort closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Vitor Belfort seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Belfort looks gassed!

The Snake fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Belfort sprawls well initially but The Snake persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Belfort tries to get to full guard but The Snake has control of the leg.

The Snake is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Belfort doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time The Snake.
Belfort tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

The Snake wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Belfort, who protects the arm well.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The Snake maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Belfort could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but The Snake has cracked it and Belfort is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by The Snake!
