Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gilberto Da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donovan Douglass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gilberto Da Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Donovan Douglass!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douglass fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Gilberto Da Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Douglass wants to clinch.
Da Silva moves into the clinch successfully.
Douglass has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Da Silva is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Douglass goes for a takedown in the clinch but Da Silva prevents it.
Gilberto Da Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donovan Douglass.
Douglass is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Da Silva gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Douglass bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Douglass goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Da Silva has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Douglass but great work by Da Silva.

Da Silva seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Da Silva is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Da Silva looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Douglass with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Da Silva lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Da Silva looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Da Silva lands a nice short elbow.
Douglass has hold of Da Silva's hands but Da Silva slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Da Silva working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Da Silva uses his free foot to push down on Douglass's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Douglass.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Douglass is bucking up trying to escape but Da Silva cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Da Silva cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Douglass wants to control but Da Silva is having none of it.

Douglass closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Douglass lands in his opponent's guard.
Da Silva manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Douglass manages to get himself to full guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Da Silva's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Da Silva stands up over Douglass, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Da Silva passes Douglass's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
