Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mattias Markstrom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mattias Markstrom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George Pierre!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pierre changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Markstrom looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Pierre taking a break here but Markstrom is having none of it and regains half guard.
Markstrom tries to roll over but Pierre keeps him under control.
Pierre is trying to control the action in half guard but Markstrom is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Markstrom is pressing down on Pierre's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Markstrom avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Markstrom has Pierre pulled in close to control his posture.
Pierre is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Pierre is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Markstrom has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pierre can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close round but I would say that Mattias Markstrom will probably get the nod.

Pierre looks to score with a jab to the body but Markstrom is just out of range.

Markstrom is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Markstrom bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pierre's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mattias Markstrom will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Pierre stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pierre wants it to stay on the feet.
Mattias Markstrom is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Pierre is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Markstrom knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

I would just about give that final round to George Pierre.
