Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ronnie Lott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stuart Efron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ronnie Lott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stuart Efron!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lott fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Efron sprawls well initially but Lott persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Lott is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Efron is trying to get back to full guard.

Lott seems to be looking for submissions.
Lott wants to pass the guard but Efron is defending well.

Lott is working for a kimura but Efron is defending it quite comfortably.

Lott working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lott shoots in for a takedown but Efron shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Efron looks to land a combination but Lott avoids it well.
Horrible takedown by Efron or perhaps it was just good defense by Lott which made him look bad.
Efron misses with a series of wild punches.
Efron misses the shot to the body.
Efron throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lott stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Lott is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Efron lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Efron tries to clinch but Lott moves out of range.
Efron scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lott doesn't seem bothered though.
Efron misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ronnie Lott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Efron is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lott sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Lott is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Efron is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Efron has escaped and now he's on top!
Efron wants to stand but Lott has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Lott is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Lott postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Efron is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lott, into his guard.

Efron sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lott's guard.

Stuart Efron showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Ronnie Lott overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Lott drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Efron manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lott has Efron in his guard.

Stuart Efron comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Efron has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
