PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Buford Tannen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Metsanpeikko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tannen throws a sloppy head kick and Metsanpeikko moves out of range easily.

Tannen clinches.
Tannen scores with a nice hook to the head.

Metsanpeikko drags the fight down to the ground.
Tannen wants to control from the top but Metsanpeikko keeps moving.
Tannen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Metsanpeikko swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Metsanpeikko can't keep his opponent in guard - Tannen advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Metsanpeikko is concentrating on defense, preventing Tannen from advancing position.
Tannen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Metsanpeikko keeps working.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Metsanpeikko shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tannen sprawls well. Tannen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Metsanpeikko gets slowly back to his feet.
Metsanpeikko fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tannen avoids it really well and circles away.

Metsanpeikko jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tannen walks away with a smile on his face. Metsanpeikko gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Buford Tannen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hugo Metsanpeikko.

Tannen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
