Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Bernardes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Josh Bernardes!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Brown.

Bernardes feints and as Brown raises his hands in defense, Bernardes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bernardes preventing the sweep.

Bernardes is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Brown is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Brown is looking for a triangle here but Bernardes uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Brown gets back to half guard.
Brown keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Bernardes looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Bernardes is looking for a kimura but Brown is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bernardes to get the leverage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Bernardes is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Brown sees it coming and defends easily.
Brown wants to control but Bernardes is keeping busy.
Brown is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bernardes is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Bernardes looking to secure an arm triangle but Brown defends it well.
Brown knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bernardes on the ground.
Brown tries to hold on but Bernardes pushes him away.

BOOM! Bernardes connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Brown tries to reverse the position but Bernardes maintains control.
Bernardes looking to finish Brown with some ground and pound. This is bad for Brown!
Bernardes is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Brown can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Brown tries to hold on but Bernardes postures up.
Brown is breathing heavily.
Bernardes has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Brown's face.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Bernardes is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Brown to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Brown shrugs it off.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brown tries to hold on but Bernardes postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Josh Bernardes dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Brown has his takedown stuffed

and Bernardes counters with a nice double leg into side control. Brown won't be happy with that.
Brown is looking for a sweep.
Bernardes is putting a hurting on Brown here, landing some big shots from side control.
Brown prevents Bernardes from improving position.
Bernardes throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Bernardes grinds an elbow into Brown's temple.
Brown is trying to control Bernardes's posture but Bernardes avoids it.

Bernardes thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bernardes looks up at the clock and then as Brown takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Bernardes smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Bernardes thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Josh Bernardes has got the better of the ground game so far.

Bernardes tries for a kimura but Brown is defending well.
Bernardes trying to control the action but Brown is working from the bottom.
Bernardes has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Brown in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Bernardes lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Brown is trying desperately to improve position.

Bernardes is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Brown can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The referee warns Brown that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Bernardes should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Brown is squirming around, avoiding Bernardes's attempts to control the action.
Brown sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Bernardes lands with a punch from half guard.

Bernardes is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brown defends it well.
Bernardes slips a nice elbow through Brown's hands, connecting with Brown's forehead.

Bernardes missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Bernardes working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Josh Bernardes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Brown wants to clinch up but Bernardes keeps it at a distance.

Bernardes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Brown is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Bernardes in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Brown is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
