The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
St Pierre doesn't manage to clinch there - Goldberg circles away.
Goldberg tries to clinch up.
Goldberg throws an overhand right that lands on St Pierre's shoulder, as St Pierre tries to avoid the shot.

St Pierre is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Goldberg's half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Goldberg on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Goldberg is looking to control St Pierre's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Goldberg avoid being mounted?

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as St Pierre accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Goldberg has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. St Pierre is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Goldberg.

George St Pierre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Goldberg distracts St Pierre with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Goldberg wants to get up but he can't break St Pierre's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Goldberg stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. St Pierre swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
