Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Francis Drake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Craig Daniels!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daniels misses with a jab, cross combination.
Daniels throws out a powerful jab.
Drake fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Daniels avoids it really well and circles away.
Drake fails to land with a series of punches.
Drake shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Daniels as he jumps to the side.
Daniels stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Daniels wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Francis Drake. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Daniels gets a takedown into half guard.
Drake is pressing down on Daniels's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Daniels must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Drake has his foot on Daniels's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Daniels works his way back into a safe position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Daniels closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Drake to the mat! Drake manages to get full guard.
Daniels wants to stand but Drake has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Drake is trying to keep Daniels in close.
Drake manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Drake tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Craig Daniels dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Daniels shoots in and bounces Drake off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Drake wants to sweep but no luck.
Daniels wants to control from the top but Drake keeps moving.
Daniels tries to free his leg and advance position but Drake is retaining full guard.

Drake is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

so Daniels counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Drake is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Daniels has his hands clasped together but Drake extends an breaks Daniels's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Drake.
