PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Leary (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Woodstock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leary comes into the arena with Dangermouse blaring out of the sound system. Woodstock has chosen Metallica - Enter Sandman as his entrance music. Mark Leary has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leary lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Woodstock circles away quickly and effectively.
Woodstock uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Leary.
Woodstock lands with a thumping leg kick.
Woodstock throws a push kick but Leary slaps the foot to one side.
Woodstock scoring well with a low kick there.
Woodstock shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Woodstock throws the kick towards the body but Leary avoids it.

Leary shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Woodstock's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Woodstock throws a push kick but Leary slaps the foot to one side.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Leary crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Woodstock - the referee stops the clock and Leary gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Woodstock. Leary manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Leary scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
The fighters circling - Leary throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Leary shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Woodstock sprawls well. Woodstock wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Leary gets slowly back to his feet.

Woodstock feints and then cracks Leary's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Leary down.

Leary shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Leary got a little sloppy there for a moment and Woodstock has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Leary has managed to get both his arms back between Woodstock's legs - danger averted.

No joy there for Leary, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Woodstock throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Leary tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Leary is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
