The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Webster closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Webster lands in his opponent's guard.

Webster drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Webster jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Webster postures up in Thompson's guard and throws a big left but Thompson blocks it.
Thompson wants to sweep but no luck.
Webster loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Webster takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Webster takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Thompson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Thompson wants it to stay on the feet.
Thompson is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Webster had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Thompson tries to bum rush Webster with a series of wild strikes but Webster uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
