Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Filipovich Petruhin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Filipovich Petruhin!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksandr Martynov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Petruhin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Torres to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Torres is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Petruhin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Petruhin has escaped and now he's on top!

and Torres counters with a nice double leg into side control. Petruhin won't be happy with that.

Torres is trying to get an arm triangle but Petruhin is defending well.

Torres is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Petruhin has escaped the position, nice work there.
Torres is breathing heavily.

Torres swings around for an armbar but Petruhin sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Torres's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Petruhin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Torres has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Petruhin has managed to get both his arms back between Torres's legs - danger averted.

Torres postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Petruhin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Torres, into his guard.

Despite being in the dominant position, Igor Filipovich Petruhin just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Torres misses with a takedown

so Petruhin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Torres looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Petruhin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Torres is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Petruhin is defending against the submission attempts here by Torres.
Torres wants to pass the guard but Petruhin is defending well.
Petruhin preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Igor Filipovich Petruhin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Torres wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Petruhin, who protects the arm well.

Torres goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Petruhin rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Torres's guard! Nice work there by Petruhin!

Torres had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Petruhin defends it easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Petruhin slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Torres is trying to escape the position but Petruhin is controlling the position.
Torres is looking for a sweep.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Igor Filipovich Petruhin.
Petruhin shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Petruhin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Torres did well to prevent Petruhin getting side control.
