And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jjang Shin!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Banks sprawls well. Banks wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shin gets slowly back to his feet.
Shin checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Shin takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Banks lands with a thumping leg kick.
Banks thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Shin if he has to take too many more of those.

Shin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Banks tries to work over Shin's front leg with a kick but Shin checks it.
Banks lets loose with a powerful body kick. Shin will feel that in the morning.

Shin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Banks's waist but Banks gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shin off to one side.

Shin chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Banks can pounce on him.

Banks throws a solid leg kick but Shin takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Banks.

and Banks counters with a good low kick that Shin was not able to check.

Banks turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Shin might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Banks has got the better of the exchanges.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Shin's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Banks connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Shin is trying desperately to land a takedown but Banks is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Shin.

Well Banks has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
