Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ulisses Lopes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Knut Krauthans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lopes comes into the arena with Fucking Hostile - Pantera blaring out of the sound system. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krauthans tries a head kick but it misses.
Ulisses Lopes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lopes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Krauthans swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Lopes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Krauthans holds on for dear life.
Krauthans is looking to improve his position but Lopes isn't that keen on the idea.
Lopes trying to control but Krauthans is having none of it.
Lopes throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

Lopes is thwarting Krauthans's attempts to control the position.

Lopes tries to clinch but Krauthans is having none of it.

Krauthans has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Lopes is trying to keep an underhook but Krauthans manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Lopes tries to roll over but Krauthans keeps him under control.
Lopes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Krauthans on the ground.
Lopes looks like he's trying to stand up.

Krauthans is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lopes is just riding it out for now. Krauthans eventually gives up the hold.
Lopes keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Krauthans is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Krauthans is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lopes doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Krauthans.
Krauthans wants to control but Lopes is keeping him busy.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Lopes is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Krauthans's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Krauthans's back!
Krauthans rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Lopes is trying to work for a kimura but Krauthans is defending well.
Lopes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Krauthans keeps working.
Lopes is thwarting Krauthans's attempts to control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Krauthans is pressing down on Lopes's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Krauthans pulls Lopes in close to prevent any damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A left hand lands to the body for Krauthans.

Krauthans turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Krauthans manages to end up in side control.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Krauthans tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Krauthans has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Krauthans has hold of Lopes's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Lopes seems comfortable defending it but Krauthans has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Lopes is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Lopes is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Krauthans couldn't care less - he's delighted!
