Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alain Huge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Franklin.
Huge connects with a good right hand that stumbles Franklin. Franklin circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Huge throws a shot from downtown. Franklin moves away and avoids it.
Franklin tries to clinch up.
Franklin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Huge pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Franklin back to the cage. Huge follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Franklin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Franklin throws the kick towards the body but Huge avoids it.
Alain Huge seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Huge's jab looks to have found its range, popping Franklin under the eye.
Franklin tries to clinch there but Huge circles away.
Huge is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Franklin had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Horrible takedown by Franklin or perhaps it was just good defense by Huge which made him look bad.

Franklin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Huge sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Huge tries to break free but Franklin pushes him back against the cage.

Franklin has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Franklin there as he acknowledges the shot.
Huge lands a nice shot that snaps Franklin's head back.
Huge throws a leg kick but Franklin sees it coming and moves out of range.
Franklin fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Franklin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Franklin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Huge manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Franklin tries a head kick but it misses.

Huge shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Franklin eats them both and turns towards Huge to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Huge moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Huge connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Franklin is rocked!
Franklin takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Oh Franklin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Huge cracks Franklin on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Franklin falls backwards against the cage. Huge follows up with more strikes that drop Franklin to his knees. Huge keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Franklin! This one is all over!
