The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Caine misses.
Alex Caine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jab by Caine.
Caine misses with a double jab.
Caine paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Maia tries to clinch but Caine moves out of range.
Maia avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Maia throws a left and a right that both miss
and Caine counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Caine looks to land a left hand but Maia moved out of range nicely.
Caine dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Maia dives in and grabs Caine's left leg, looking for a takedown. Caine pushes down on Maia's head and hops out.
Caine dodges the punch combination from Maia.
Caine lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Caine.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Caine has cracked Maia with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Caine lands another huge swinging hook and Maia tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Maia, before Caine can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Alex Caine!
