The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Hammersmith with that takedown attempt.
Hammersmith tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Thomas swivels and escapes.
Hammersmith shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Thomas as he avoids it easily.

Hammersmith closes the distance and clinches up with Thomas, looking for a takedown. Hammersmith pushes Thomas against the cage but Thomas circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hammersmith shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Thomas pinned against the cage. Thomas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Thomas takes a swing at Hammersmith's ribcage but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hammersmith fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thomas avoids it really well and circles away.
Hammersmith closes the distance and clinches up with Thomas, looking for a takedown. Hammersmith pushes Thomas against the cage but Thomas circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Hammersmith shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Thomas is trying to defend but Hammersmith finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Hammersmith seems to be looking for submissions.
Thomas is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hammersmith is trying to control the action in half guard but Thomas is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hammersmith closes this distance looking for a takedown but Thomas circles away.
Hammersmith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thomas.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hammersmith shoots for a takedown but Thomas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Thomas scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Thomas throws a right hand that Hammersmith ducks under and follows up with a left that Hammersmith also avoids with ease.
Thomas throws an overhand right that lands on Hammersmith's shoulder, as Hammersmith tries to avoid the shot.
Thomas throws a body punch but Hammersmith moves out of range.
Darius Thomas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hammersmith closes the distance and clinches up with Thomas, looking for a takedown. Hammersmith pushes Thomas against the cage but Thomas circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Thomas connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Thomas lunges at Hammersmith with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hammersmith's hand.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hammersmith.
Hammersmith takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Thomas drops Hammersmith with a beautiful combination! Hammersmith stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Thomas is looking for the KO!


Hammersmith is rocked!
Hammersmith shoots in for a takedown but Thomas shows good takedown defense.
Oh Hammersmith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Thomas lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Hammersmith falls backwards - clearly groggy! Thomas dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
