PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mirko Kilovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fail Sonnen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fail Sonnen told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sonnen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Sonnen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kilovic keeps working.
Sonnen lands a decent elbow from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sonnen is trying to get an arm triangle but Kilovic is defending well.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Sonnen cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Sonnen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Sonnen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Sonnen shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sonnen connects with a nice short shot to Kilovic's temple.
Sonnen is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Kilovic wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Sonnen wants to control the pace but Kilovic is squirming around nicely.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sonnen is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Sonnen extends the arm and Kilovic is forced to tap!
