PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Juan Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Braylon Wolfe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wolfe has chosen Killing in the Name as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Braylon Wolfe enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Juan Kerr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Braylon Wolfe!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wolfe fails with an attempt to clinch.
Wolfe moves out of range of the body kick.

Wolfe gets caught flat footed, as Kerr shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kerr avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kerr controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Kerr trying to control but Wolfe is working from the bottom.

Wolfe working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kerr doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kerr manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wolfe is controlling Kerr's posture.
Wolfe wants to sweep but no luck.

Wolfe has his foot on Kerr's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kerr works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Kerr is looking for a kimura here.
Kerr is keen to just control but Wolfe is a slippery customer.
Kerr frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Wolfe tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Kerr can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wolfe is looking to escape.

Wolfe is squirming around, avoiding Kerr's attempts to control the action.
Wolfe should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Wolfe slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Kerr wants to stand up but Wolfe has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Kerr decides to stand and escape the position.
Wolfe misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Kerr decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kerr slows the pace down in half guard.
Kerr tries to pass to full mount but Wolfe defends it.

Kerr is looking to take a break and control but Wolfe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Wolfe is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kerr's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kerr's back!
Kerr looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Kerr tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Kerr tries to hold on but Wolfe postures up.

Kerr closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wolfe circles away.

Wolfe creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Kerr tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Wolfe smiles and moves away.
Wolfe throws a sloppy head kick and Kerr moves out of range easily.

Kerr moves into the clinch successfully.
Wolfe tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Kerr can't break the clinch.

Kerr pulls Wolfe into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Wolfe drops back looking for a leg! Kerr is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kerr manages to kick Wolfe off! Wolfe jumps back into Kerr's guard.

Kerr is trying to control the position but Wolfe postures up.
Wolfe throws and elbow that misses. Kerr uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wolfe's guard. Nice move by Kerr!

Kerr drops back looking for a leg! Wolfe is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wolfe manages to kick Kerr off! Kerr jumps back into Wolfe's guard.

Wolfe is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kerr's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kerr's back!
Wolfe is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Wolfe gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Wolfe gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Wolfe apologises and we restart here on the feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Kerr decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Wolfe's guard.
Kerr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wolfe swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kerr is looking to stand up but Wolfe won't let him.
Kerr is looking to work some ground and pound but Wolfe has wrist control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kerr is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Wolfe is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kerr, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
