PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeorge Bruno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Potter has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Paul Potter is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bruno moves into the clinch.
Potter looks gassed!

Bruno has his feet on Potter's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Potter gets caught flat footed, as Bruno shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Bruno stands and steps away. Potter gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Potter can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bruno stands up and waves to Potter to follow him.

Bruno shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bruno showed some decent athleticism there.

Bruno is working for a kimura but Potter is defending it quite comfortably.

Bruno will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Bruno looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Potter with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Bruno is working for a kimura but Potter is defending it quite comfortably.
Potter has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bruno is working away from the top position though.

Bruno stands up out of the half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bruno tries for a takedown but Potter sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeorge Bruno. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bruno lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

and Potter counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Bruno!
Potter fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bruno is working to get back to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bruno reaches up and holds on to Potter to control the position.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Bruno working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Potter turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Bruno off and cradles Potter's limp body as Bruno celebrates with his corner.
