Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roan Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur McDermott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McDermott is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Village People - YMCA. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marshall lands a nice shot that snaps McDermott's head back.
Marshall closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
McDermott wants to improve his position but Marshall is controlling well.
Marshall is sneakily working for an arm triangle but McDermott sees it coming and defends easily.
Marshall is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, McDermott manages to get to full guard.
McDermott had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Marshall defends it easily.
Marshall distracts McDermott with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Marshall drops back, looking for a kneebar! McDermott looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. McDermott looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from McDermott!

Marshall manages to work his way to half guard, despite McDermott's best efforts.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

McDermott remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

That was a close round but I would say that Roan Marshall will probably get the nod.

McDermott cracks Marshall with an uppercut from hell and Marshall crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of McDermott's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
McDermott wants to control from the top but Marshall keeps moving.

Marshall bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Marshall rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McDermott moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

I think McDermott has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
