Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carlos Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evangelista tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jackson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Evangelista changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Jackson wants to clinch up but Evangelista keeps it at a distance.
Jackson wants to clinch.

Jackson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jackson lands in his opponent's guard.
Jackson wanted to stand there but Evangelista had control of the position.

Jackson swats away the attempt to clinch by Evangelista.
Evangelista shoots in but Jackson avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jackson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Evangelista avoids it really well and circles away.

Evangelista chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jackson can pounce on him.

Evangelista gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jackson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Evangelista escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jackson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

and Jackson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jackson.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Evangelista wants to sweep but no luck.
Jackson is looking to stand up but Evangelista won't let him.
Evangelista manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jackson wants to try and get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carlos Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Evangelista looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jackson is fending him off so far but Evangelista persists. Nope, Jackson circles away and we're back to standing.

Evangelista is looking to break free of the clinch but Jackson has double underhooks.
Jackson throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Jackson has clasped his hands together around Evangelista's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Jackson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Evangelista knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Evangelista working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jackson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jackson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
