Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dick Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denis Spoljaric (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dick Head!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Denis Spoljaric!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spoljaric avoids the head kick by Head.
Spoljaric keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Head.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Spoljaric, right into the meat.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Spoljaric.
Spoljaric misses the shot to the body.
Spoljaric defending well as Head loads up on a big left hand.
Spoljaric changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Head tries to avoid it but Spoljaric manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Head to the ground. Head escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Spoljaric fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Head gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Spoljaric stands up and waves to Head to follow him.
Head is breathing heavily.
Head swats away the attempt to clinch by Spoljaric.
Spoljaric is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Head misses with a looping left.
Head throws a right and a left that both miss.

Spoljaric looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Head knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Spoljaric on the ground.
Spoljaric wants to control from the top but Head keeps moving.
Head looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Spoljaric throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Spoljaric sitting in guard here, content to control.
I looks like Spoljaric might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Head wants to stand up but Spoljaric is controlling him.
Spoljaric passes Head's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Spoljaric is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Spoljaric is trying to control the action in half guard but Head is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Spoljaric is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Head is refusing to be controlled, as Spoljaric sits in half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Denis Spoljaric.
Head stuffs the takedown attempt from Spoljaric. Spoljaric gets slowly back to his feet.
Dick Head has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Denis Spoljaric.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Head lands with a kick to the temple. Spoljaric shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Spoljaric.
Head's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Head duly obliges.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Denis Spoljaric dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Spoljaric drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Spoljaric tries to clinch but Head moves out of range.
Spoljaric needs to keep his hands up - Head had a free shot at his head there.
Spoljaric misses with a double jab.
Spoljaric fails with an attempt to clinch.
The fighters circling - Head throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Head forces Spoljaric back against the cage and clinches.
Spoljaric drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Head gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Spoljaric prevents Head from breaking the clinch.
Head has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Head manages to break the clinch.
Head defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Spoljaric.
Spoljaric bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Head throws a left and a right that both miss
and Spoljaric counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Spoljaric fails with the takedown.
Dick Head has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Denis Spoljaric.

Spoljaric uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Head.
Head throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Spoljaric fails with an attempt to clinch.
Head moves out of range as Spoljaric throws a body kick.
Spoljaric misses with a combination
and Head counters with a two punch combo.
Head pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
A head kick by Head misses
and Spoljaric counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Spoljaric drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Spoljaric trying to control the position but Head is working away.

Spoljaric postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Spoljaric taking a break here but Head is having none of it and regains half guard.

Head has one foot on Spoljaric's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Head misses with a hook. Spoljaric ducked under it nicely.
Spoljaric fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Head falls off balance throwing a combination

and Spoljaric counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Spoljaric is in close to Head's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Head pushes Spoljaric off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Spoljaric throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Head falls off balance throwing a combination

and Spoljaric counters with a nice double leg into side control. Head won't be happy with that.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Head sneaks out the side door and pushes Spoljaric away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Spoljaric tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Head counters with a one-two to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Spoljaric connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Spoljaric has his takedown stuffed

and Head counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Head wants to stand and escape but instead Spoljaric has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Spoljaric advances position into side control!
Head pushes Spoljaric away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Spoljaric gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Spoljaric decides to take the fight back to the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Denis Spoljaric will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Spoljaric shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Head is trying to defend but Spoljaric finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Spoljaric works his foot free and advances to mount.
Spoljaric looking to control and managing it successfully.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Spoljaric is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Head can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Spoljaric sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Head taking shots to the head.
Spoljaric looking to control but Head is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Spoljaric won't let Head get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Spoljaric trying to control but Head is having none of it.
Spoljaric is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Head can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Head on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Head tries to get out of the position.

Spoljaric is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Head is surviving well by controlling Spoljaric's body position as best he can.
Spoljaric trying to control but he's not successful this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Spoljaric looking to secure an arm triangle but Head defends it well.

Spoljaric is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Head has managed to escape the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Spoljaric has control of Head's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Head regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Head is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

And that's the end of the fight!
Denis Spoljaric comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Spoljaric winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
