The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maier feints and as Laudinum raises his hands in defense, Maier changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Laudinum on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Laudinum tries to get out of the position.

Maier drops back, looking for a kneebar! Laudinum looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Laudinum looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Laudinum!
Laudinum tries to stand but Maier is controlling his head.

Maier is trying to get an arm triangle but Laudinum is defending well.
Maier has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Laudinum!
Laudinum is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Maier is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Laudinum can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Maier wants to finish this one by submission but Laudinum is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Maier.
Laudinum really wants to buck Maier off and get back to his feet.

Maier jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Laudinum is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Laudinum and Maier has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Laudinum is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Maier is controlling him well.

Maier has hold of Laudinum's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Laudinum seems comfortable defending it but Maier has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Laudinum is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Laudinum is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Maier couldn't care less - he's delighted!
