The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Klaat throws a head kick that misses.
Klaat lands a head kick. Chronic smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
It looks like Dustin Chronic has been cut.
Chronic swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Klaat tries a head kick but it misses.
Klaat throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A head kick misses from Klaat.
Klaat throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Chronic stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Klaat tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Chronic sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Chronic avoids the head kick by Klaat.
Chronic throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Klaat throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Klaat fakes the leg kick and cracks Chronic in the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Klaat lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Chronic misses with a takedown attempt - Klaat sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Chronic shoots in for a takedown but Klaat shows good takedown defense.

Chronic decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Klaat wants to improve his position but Chronic is controlling well.
Klaat pushes Chronic off but Chronic dives into side control.
Klaat gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Klaat holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Chronic tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Chronic is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Klaat's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chronic looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Klaat is desperately trying to improve his position but Chronic has a good base and remains in mount.

Atlas Klaat's cut is getting worse.
Chronic loads up with a big shot that hurts Klaat! He's pulled Chronic in close but Chronic has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Klaat survive? More strikes from Chronic and Klaat is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
