PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Don Cragen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kawasaki Dojo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cragen comes into the arena with Captain Cragen blaring out of the sound system. Don Cragen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cragen fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dojo sprawls well initially but Cragen persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Cragen slips a nice elbow through Dojo's hands, connecting with Dojo's forehead.
Dojo is looking to escape.
Dojo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Cragen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Cragen stops Dojo from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dojo is trying to stand back up but Cragen is controlling him

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Cragen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dojo is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Cragen has just dragged him back down to the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cragen lands a few punches from side control.
Cragen is chipping away with strikes.
Dojo tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Dojo looks gassed!
Dojo is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Cragen with a couple of short strikes.
Cragen landing punches.
Cragen lands with some strikes.

You get the feeling that Dojo really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Cragen fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Dojo is rocked!

Dojo is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Cragen locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Dojo is forced to tap!
