Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Rodgers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Murphy Mcmannus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ken Rodgers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Murphy Mcmannus!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcmannus fails to land with a series of punches.
Mcmannus throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rodgers's waist but Rodgers gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mcmannus off to one side.
Mcmannus fails to land the takedown.
Mcmannus dives in and grabs Rodgers's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rodgers pushes down on Mcmannus's head and hops out.
Ken Rodgers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Murphy Mcmannus.
Rodgers throws a right and a left that Mcmannus avoids nicely.
Rodgers tries to bum rush Mcmannus with a series of wild strikes but Mcmannus uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mcmannus looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mcmannus throws a series of punches but Rodgers moves out of range.
Mcmannus changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rodgers tries to avoid it but Mcmannus manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rodgers to the ground. Rodgers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mcmannus looks gassed!
Rodgers lands with a hook. Mcmannus tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Mcmannus looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Rodgers waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Mcmannus.
Murphy Mcmannus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rodgers moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Mcmannus uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rodgers.

Rodgers closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Mcmannus gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Mcmannus is squirming around, avoiding Rodgers's attempts to control the action.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mcmannus can do anything to dispel that myth.
Rodgers takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rodgers with the ground and pound from mount.
Mcmannus is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Rodgers has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mcmannus's face.
Rodgers landing strikes from the mount and Mcmannus is in trouble!
Rodgers takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Rodgers lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Mcmannus hang on?


Mcmannus is rocked!
Mcmannus really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rodgers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rodgers lands with some strikes.
Mcmannus is still in real trouble! Can Rodgers finish him?
Mcmannus is in a horrible position here. Rodgers smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Rodgers postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Mcmannus looks a forlorn figure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Oooh a big shot lands for Rodgers! Mcmannus is out! The ref dives in to save him from more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Ken Rodgers!
