The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haapalainen slips under a jab.
Haapalainen is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Haapalainen slaps away a takedown attempt from Jones, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Jones fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A bone on bone clash there as Jones blocks the leg kick.
Jones throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Haapalainen throws a head kick that misses.
Jones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Haapalainen but Haapalainen pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ben Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Haapalainen is looking to clinch.
Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Haapalainen's waist but Haapalainen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Haapalainen misses with an uppercut. Jones saw that one coming.
Jones looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Haapalainen throws an overhand right that lands on Jones's shoulder, as Jones tries to avoid the shot.
Haapalainen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jones.
Jones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Haapalainen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jones somewhat.
Haapalainen misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Donk. Haapalainen catches Jones right on the button with a cross.
Jones shoots in but Haapalainen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jones will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daavid Haapalainen dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Jones tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Haapalainen counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Haapalainen connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Jones tumbling to the canvas! Haapalainen pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Jones was done - good stoppage!
