Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Clark Channel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randjob Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Clark Channel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Randjob Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Channel stuffs the takedown attempt from Gracie. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Channel. No joy for Gracie on that attempt.
Channel throws a lazy right hand but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Gracie scores a takedown into full mount!

Gracie with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Channel trying desperately to get to his feet.
Channel on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Channel tries to get out of the position.
Gracie fails to take his opponent's back.

Gracie moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Channel has worked his arm free - good work by Channel!

Gracie is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Channel is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Channel is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Gracie has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Gracie grinds an elbow into Channel's temple.
Channel is trying to get back to his feet.
Gracie postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Channel, who protects the arm well.
Gracie misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gracie prevents Channel from escaping the position.
Channel on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Gracie working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Channel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.
Channel wants to get back to his feet.

Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Gracie goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Channel rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Gracie's guard! Nice work there by Channel!
Channel has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Channel trying to stand up but can't free himself from Gracie's guard.

Gracie manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Gracie is working for a guillotine from mount but Channel frees his head quite easily.

Gracie jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Channel manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Channel bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Gracie ducks under a wild hook from Channel.
Channel throws out a loose jab but Gracie uses good head movement to avoid it.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Gracie working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Gracie prevents Channel from standing back up.
Gracie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Gracie is looking to advance position but Channel won't allow it.

Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Channel is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Randjob Gracie dominated that round.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gracie.
A telegraphed right hand from Channel misses the target.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Channel is trying to stand up.

Gracie jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Channel is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Channel and Gracie has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Gracie has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Gracie dominating with strikes here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie goes for an armbar but Channel turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Channel.

Gracie is breathing heavily.

Channel avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Gracie has his foot on Channel's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Channel works his way back into a safe position though.
Channel won't allow Gracie to sweep him here.

Gracie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Channel defends it easily.
Channel wants to stand but Gracie has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Gracie is looking for a triangle but Channel pushes his legs off easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Channel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Gracie tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Channel decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gracie, up you get!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Randjob Gracie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Channel as he avoids it easily.
Gracie slips a jab from Channel.
Gracie moves away from the strike by Channel.
Channel lands with a slapping head kick.
Gracie slips under a jab.
Channel rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gracie moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
The fighters circling - Channel throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Gracie with a body punch. A glancing blow.

Gracie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gracie lands in his opponent's guard.
Gracie trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Gracie pushing down on Channel's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie is working for a kimura but Channel is defending it quite comfortably.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Channel wants to get back to his feet.
Gracie works his way into full mount!
Channel is in a horrible position here. Gracie smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Channel really wants to buck Gracie off and get back to his feet.

Gracie swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Channel is now in Gracie's guard. A big mistake from Gracie there, giving up the dominant position!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Gracie looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Channel is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Gracie has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Channel is looking to defend but Gracie has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Channel! Gracie pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Channel taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Randjob Gracie!
