PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kostas Bleidelis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Lindsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lindsey is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Californication - RHCP. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Kostas Bleidelis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Lindsey!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bleidelis lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.


It looks like Daniel Lindsey has been cut.
Lindsey shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bleidelis but Bleidelis pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Bleidelis circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bleidelis tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

enabling Lindsey to counter with a crisp jab.

Lindsey changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bleidelis tries to avoid it but Lindsey manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bleidelis to the ground. Bleidelis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bleidelis throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Lindsey misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bleidelis cracks Lindsey with an open hand slap.
Bleidelis on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Lindsey connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Kostas Bleidelis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bleidelis looks to land a body kick but Lindsey moved away.

and Lindsey counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lindsey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bleidelis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lindsey is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bleidelis is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bleidelis has escaped and now he's on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bleidelis wants to stand and escape but instead Lindsey has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Lindsey is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bleidelis sees it coming and defends easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Lindsey bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bleidelis's guard.

Lindsey drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bleidelis dives on top into guard.

Well Lindsey has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
