The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

DeSouza closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - DeSouza lands in his opponent's guard.
Zanetti looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
DeSouza pushes down on Zanetti's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zanetti is refusing to be controlled, as DeSouza sits in half guard.
DeSouza takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

DeSouza tries to control but Zanetti wriggling away.
DeSouza pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zanetti is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
DeSouza will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
DeSouza doesn't have the hooks in and Zanetti manages to turn into his guard.
Zanetti should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tony DeSouza.
